Simulation - Cornerstone for Design

Presenter: Michele Stuart, PMP, President, Efficiency Engineers

This workshop follows on our theme of using simulation for design. In particular, simulation’s application to the facilities and infrastructure aspects of healthcare.

We at the project and discusses the benefits that can be realized by using simulation to improve operational systems like these.

Michele Stuart, President of SIMUL8 Partner, Efficiency Engineers, discusses how simulation software has been used in an unusual infrastructure project in which Geisinger Health System wanted to optimize their pneumatic tube system. The pneumatic tube system forms the backbone on which clinical care happens, however (like many other operational systems) these systems don’t get much visibility or discussion.
